The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montoya is looking to chop away at Smilehoven's legs. Smilehoven throws a poor cross that misses
and Montoya counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Smilehoven throws a left and a right that both miss
and Montoya makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Montoya scoring well with a low kick there.
Smilehoven on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Montoya. Montoya obviously looking to wear him down.
Montoya lands a nice looking body kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Montoya. Montoya scores with a jab. Smilehoven acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Smilehoven throws a lazy head kick and Montoya counters with a good low kick that Smilehoven was not able to check. A solid leg kick lands there for Montoya.
Montoya's corner calls for a 1-2. Montoya obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Montoya throws a nice inside leg kick. Smilehoven is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A low kick from Smilehoven is predictable there and Montoya moves into the clinch. Montoya lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Jim Smilehoven has been cut. A shot in the inside from Montoya. Montoya digs a right hand underneath Smilehoven's ribcage. Smilehoven let out a lung full of air as it connected. Montoya lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Smilehoven. A nice glancing elbow lands by Montoya.
