Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Komusubi Ozeki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Francis Okocha!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okocha wants to clinch but Ozeki slips to the side
and Ozeki counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Okocha scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ozeki throws a hook to the side of Okocha's head but Okocha sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Okocha lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ozeki backs up against the cage.
Okocha lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Okocha moves to clinch but Ozeki breaks away
and Ozeki counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Okocha's guard now.
Okocha is trying to control the position but Ozeki postures up.
Ozeki keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Okocha's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ozeki is looking to work some ground and pound but Okocha has wrist control.
Okocha is trying to keep Ozeki in close.

Okocha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ozeki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Okocha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ozeki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Okocha has managed to get both his arms back between Ozeki's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ozeki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ozeki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Okocha doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Okocha manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ozeki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Okocha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ozeki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Okocha defends it easily.
Okocha works over Ozeki with some ground and pound from guard.
Ozeki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Okocha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Okocha is fighting to break Ozeki's control of his arms but Ozeki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ozeki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Okocha!

Ozeki has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Okocha's face.
Ozeki is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Okocha tries to lock up and control but Ozeki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Komusubi Ozeki dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ozeki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Okocha moves away.
Ozeki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Okocha did well to prevent Ozeki getting side control.
Ozeki is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Komusubi Ozeki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ozeki connects with a nice short shot to Okocha's temple.

Ozeki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Okocha looks a forlorn figure.
