Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fernandez takes the fight into the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fernandez takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Yuri Fernandez.
Fernandez doesn't manage to clinch there - brainson circles away.

Fernandez closes the distance and clinches up with brainson, looking for a takedown. Fernandez pushes brainson against the cage but brainson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

brainson shoots in and drives through. Fernandez sprawls well.
Yuri Fernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve brainson.
A head kick by Fernandez misses
and brainson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fernandez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fernandez tries to get out of the position.
brainson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fernandez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fernandez is breathing heavily.

brainson stands and steps away. Fernandez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The fight stays on the outside here - brainson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fernandez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between brainson's hands.
A momentary lapse in concentration from brainson enables Fernandez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. brainson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fernandez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but brainson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fernandez is looking to defend but brainson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fernandez! brainson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fernandez taps out and this one is all over!
