With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jurij Vitalenko!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vitalenko tries to bum rush Diggsby with a series of wild strikes but Diggsby uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A combination from Diggsby does no damage.
Vitalenko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Diggsby.
Diggsby throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vitalenko's waist but Vitalenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diggsby off to one side.
Vitalenko ducks right into an uppercut from Diggsby.


It looks like Jurij Vitalenko has been cut.
Diggsby shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Diggsby looks for a takedown but Vitalenko sprawls well.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

and Diggsby counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Travis Diggsby.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vitalenko. Diggsby does a little dance to reset his feet.
Diggsby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vitalenko.
Vitalenko with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Diggsby to score with a decent uppercut.

Diggsby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vitalenko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Horrible takedown by Diggsby or perhaps it was just good defense by Vitalenko which made him look bad.

Diggsby fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vitalenko sprawls well initially but Diggsby persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Diggsby thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Diggsby wants to stand up but Vitalenko is controlling the position.
Diggsby wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vitalenko keeps working.
Diggsby not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Vitalenko is positioning himself well to prevent Diggsby advancing to mount.

Diggsby has gone for a leg lock! Vitalenko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diggsby's guard.

and Diggsby counters with a left and a right that hurts Vitalenko! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Diggsby jumps into full mount!

Diggsby stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Vitalenko seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diggsby cracks Vitalenko with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Diggsby looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vitalenko is fending him off so far but Diggsby persists. Nope, Vitalenko circles away and we're back to standing.

and Vitalenko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vitalenko throws a shot from downtown. Diggsby moves away and avoids it.
Nice uppercut there from Diggsby.
Diggsby jabs Vitalenko to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Diggsby bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Vitalenko! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Vitalenko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Diggsby would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Diggsby passes Vitalenko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Diggsby seems to be working for a kimura but Vitalenko defends the submission attempt.
Diggsby is trying to control. Vitalenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Diggsby gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Oooh a lovely combination from Diggsby sends Vitalenko down but not out. Diggsby dives into side control looking to finish.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Diggsby is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vitalenko looks calm but he's in trouble here. Diggsby gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vitalenko is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Diggsby lets go of the hold and Vitalenko can pop his arm back in it's socket.
