Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that David Spiller has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily David Spiller seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Spiller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Rogers! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers throws a looping overhand right but Spiller ducks down to avoid it. Rogers misses with an uppercut
letting Spiller counter with a right hand. Spiller misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Spiller counters with a right hand to the body. Spiller throws a series of punches but Rogers moves out of range. Spiller misses with an uppercut
and Rogers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Spiller throws a predictable looking body shot
letting Rogers counter with a right hand. Spiller misses with a combination
and Rogers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spiller thinking. A jab from Rogers misses. Spiller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rogers eats them both and turns towards Spiller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Spiller misses with a hook to the body
enabling Rogers to counter with a crisp jab. Spiller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rogers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Spiller takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Rogers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spiller was well out of range. Poor timing from Rogers. Spiller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rogers counters with a stiff right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spiller swings widly with a right hand
and Rogers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers misses the shot to the body. Rogers throws an off balance right hand
enabling Spiller to counter with a crisp jab. Spiller misses with a lunging right hand
and Rogers counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Spiller walks into a left hand. Spiller misses with a right hand and Rogers counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Rogers misses the shot to the body. Spiller throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rogers counters with a straight right hand. Spiller drops his hands momentarily and Rogers takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. David Spiller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rogers works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A shot to the body from Rogers misses and Spiller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rogers's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spiller won't allow Rogers to get back to his feet. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Spiller from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers wants to stand and escape but Spiller is having none of it. Rogers kicks Spiller off and gets to his feet. Rogers slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Spiller scores with a body shot.

and Rogers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spiller thinking. Spiller throws a poor cross that misses

Spiller tries to bum rush Rogers with a series of wild strikes but Rogers uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Spiller swings widly with a right hand
and Rogers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spiller thinking. Spiller is breathing heavily. Spiller moves forwards but Rogers connects with a nice, crisp jab. Rogers lands with a nice body punch. Spiller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rogers avoids it really well and circles away. Spiller ducks under a wild hook from Rogers.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers lands a glancing blow to the side of Spiller's head. Spiller misses with a right hand and Spiller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rogers lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Rogers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Spiller. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rogers lands with a straight right. Spiller didn't see that one coming. Spiller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rogers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rogers is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Spiller had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Spiller throws an off balance right hand
and Rogers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spiller thinking. Rogers cracks Spiller with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Rogers dominated that round. That's time! Spiller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Spiller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rogers. Spiller seems to have got his legs back now. Spiller swings widly with a right hand
and Rogers makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Rogers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rogers looks to land a right hand but Spiller moved out of range. Rogers lunges at Spiller with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Spiller's hand. Good exchange - Rogers coming out on top. Rogers listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Rogers fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rogers misses with a straight left. Spiller slips a straight right by Rogers. Spiller throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

Spiller walks into a stiff left hand from Rogers. Spiller walks straight into a right hand from Rogers - that's dropped him! Rogers jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Spiller from any more punishment! Spiller complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
