Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Janek Banek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zen Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Collins has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Janek Banek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zen Collins! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Banek decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Collins's guard. Collins looks gassed! Banek pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Collins is keeping the position for now. Banek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Collins on the ground. Banek is working hard here to advance position. Banek content to stall in guard here. Banek looking to pass the guard. Banek decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Banek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Collins, pushing him back against the cage. Banek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Banek looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Banek gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Banek wants to stand but Collins has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Banek looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Collins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Banek slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Banek working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Collins's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banek sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Collins's guard. Banek thows a huge punch but Collins dodges it nicely.
Banek stands up and beckons Collins to join him on the feet. Banek clinches up against the cage. Banek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Banek looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Collins! Collins avoids a series of strikes thrown by Banek.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banek looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Banek controlling the pace for now. Banek seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Collins for as long as he can get away with.

Banek thowing shots but they're missing. Banek controlling the position easily from mount. Banek lands a nice shot to the head. Banek takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Collins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Banek will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Banek controlling the position easily from mount. Banek with good strikes from the mount here! Banek sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Collins is looking to improve his position but Banek isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Banek sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Banek lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Banek wants to finish this one by submission but Collins is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Banek. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Banek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Collins's guard. Banek throwing strikes but missing. Collins is looking for a triangle but Banek pushes his legs off easily.
Banek working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Banek has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Collins is proving hard to escape from. Banek controls from within his opponent's guard. Janek Banek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Collins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Banek is aware though and is defending well. Banek is stalling in the full guard. Collins is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banek trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Collins is working an open guard so Banek takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Banek drives through and clinches with Collins against the cage.
Banek manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Banek ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Banek no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Banek holds on and takes a little breather. Banek wants to stand and escape but Collins is having none of it. Banek is controlling Collins's posture. Banek on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Banek tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Janek Banek wasn't doing enough on the ground. Banek looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Collins! Banek really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Collins tries to reverse the position but Banek maintains control. Collins wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Banek.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Banek looking to secure an arm triangle but Collins defends it well. Banek stands up from mount. Strange move. Banek gets the takedown into side control. Banek moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Banek decides to take the fight back to the feet. Collins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Banek counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Banek. Banek stands up over Collins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Collins keeping full guard, as Banek tries to pass. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banek seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Collins tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Banek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Collins's guard now. Banek is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Collins is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Banek closes the distance and pushes Collins back into the cage. Banek lands a body shot in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Banek scores with a nice short uppercut. Banek jumps guard and drags Collins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Collins looking to sit in guard and control but Banek gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Banek gets to his feet. Collins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Banek closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Banek slows the pace down.

Collins has his takedown stuffed and Banek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Collins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Banek controls the pace. Banek is pushing down on Collins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Collins is fighting to maintain full guard but Banek has managed to sneak the leg through. Well, if Banek is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Banek wants to pass to mount but Collins is defending the position. Collins is looking for a sweep. Banek is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Collins wants to control but Banek is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Banek turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Collins tries to bench press Banek off him but Banek keeps the position. Collins gets back to half guard. Collins is looking to control Banek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Collins avoid being mounted? Banek sitting and controlling from the half guard. Banek not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Collins wants to control but Banek is keeping busy and won't allow it. Collins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Zen Collins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Janek Banek is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Collins looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
