The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jules thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pool if he has to take too many more of those.
Jules is looking to chop away at Pool's legs. Pool moves to clinch but Jules breaks away and Jules counters with a head kick. Jules throws a half hearted mid kick. Pool tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jules counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jules manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pool swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pool tries to break free but Jules pushes him back against the cage. Jules breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Nice. Jules fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pool has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A head kick misses from Jules. Brian Pool seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pool tries to clinch but Jules moves away and Jules counters with a left and a right that stings Pool. Pool closes the distance but Jules moves to the side and Jules counters by clinching up. Jules throws a knee to the head but misses.
