Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Hickman! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tiger Mask! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mask looks to throw the jab but Hickman is out of range. Hickman swings for the body but Mask moves out of range.
Mask ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hickman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hickman misses with a looping right. Nice cross by Hickman. Hickman swings widly with a right hand
and Mask counters with a nice uppercut. Hickman connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Dick Hickman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mask lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mask tries to clinch but Hickman moves away and Hickman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mask uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hickman has time to react. Mask forces Hickman back against the cage and clinches. Hickman misses with some punches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hickman. A right hand to the body from Mask.
Hickman is trying to push Mask away but Mask has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Mask blocking some punches.
Hickman misses with a punch to the body.
Hickman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mask looks to land a left hand but Hickman moved out of range nicely. Mask uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hickman. Hickman misses with a lunging right hand
and Mask counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mask with the ground and pound but Hickman uses the opportunity to regain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hickman wants to sweep but no luck. Mask is looking to work some ground and pound but Hickman has wrist control. Hickman controls Mask momentarily but Mask frees himself. Mask throws and elbow that misses. Hickman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mask's guard. Nice move by Hickman! Hickman wanted to stand there but Mask had control of the position. Mask looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mask is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mask has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Hickman trying to control but Mask is working from the bottom. Mask is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dick Hickman just wasn't active enough. Mask swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mask takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mask scores with a nice right hand.

Mask throws a combination that misses and Hickman counters with a stiff right hand. Hickman lands a slapping body shot.
Decent striking displayed by Hickman there. Mask tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hickman was well out of range. Poor timing from Mask. Hickman misses with a wild body shot. Hickman misses with a lunging right hand

Hickman jabs Mask to the body, keeping him at a distance. Mask fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hickman manages to avoid it. Mask misses with a left hand and Hickman counters with a right hand to the body. The fighters circling - Hickman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Mask counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hickman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mask drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hickman rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mask counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hickman thinking. Dick Hickman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hickman misses with a right hand and Mask counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hickman rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mask moves into the clinch. Hickman looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mask has hold of one of Hickman's legs. Hickman is fighting the takedown attempt but Mask gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Mask is looking to work some ground and pound but Hickman has wrist control. Hickman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hickman tries to get out of the position. Mask throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hickman works some decent striking defense from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hickman is looking to stand up but Mask isn't so interested in that idea. Mask missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mask thows a body shot but no joy. Mask throws a looping overhand right but Hickman ducks down to avoid it. Hickman just misses with a punch to the body.
Hickman throws out a loose jab but Mask uses good head movement to avoid it. Hickman's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Hickman duly obliges. Hickman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mask stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Mask fails in his attempt to clinch. Mask uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hickman.
Hickman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hickman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Hickman. Mask closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mask thows a huge punch but Hickman dodges it nicely.
Hickman is trying to control but can't.
Mask thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mask has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hickman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mask trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hickman manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Mask looking to control.
Hickman passes into half guard. Hickman works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hickman trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mask tries to lock up and control but Hickman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mask looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Hickman biding his time, controlling Mask.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mask is really stuck here.

Mask is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hickman.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Danga de danga de dang - Hickman scores with a four punch combination! Mask slips a straight right by Hickman. Mask jabs Hickman right on the nose. Hickman blinks but takes it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mask moves into the clinch. Hickman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hickman scores with a shoulder strike. Hickman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Still in the clinch, Mask scores with a nice short uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Hickman. Hickman is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hickman. Mask works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Mask is looking to work some ground and pound but Hickman has wrist control. Mask keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hickman's head. Hickman keeping moving, preventing Mask from controlling successfully. Hickman is trying to control the position but Mask postures up. Mask wants to control from the top but Hickman keeps moving. Hickman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Hickman clobbers Mask with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Hickman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mask moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mask gets a takedown into half guard. Hickman wants to control but Mask passes into side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hickman tries to bench press Mask off him but Mask keeps the position. Mask in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mask tries to score with some ground and pound. Hickman controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Mask throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Mask taking a break here but Hickman is having none of it and regains half guard. Hickman is trying to stand up here but Mask is controlling him well. Mask thows a huge punch but Hickman dodges it nicely.
Mask is keen to just control but Hickman is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hickman is trying to control but Mask manages to pass to mount!
Mask has hold of Hickman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hickman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mask thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Hickman tries to hold on but Mask postures up. Hickman is looking to improve his position but Mask isn't that keen on the idea. Mask punching from mount but Hickman doing a good job of avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tiger Mask really dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hickman misses with a combination
and Mask counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mask. Hickman lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mask backwards. Hickman lands a body shot in the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Mask. Mask wants the takedown. Hickman is fighting it off but Mask persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hickman's guard against the cage. Mask throws a strike but Hickman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mask is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hickman defends well. Hickman wants to stand and escape but instead Mask has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hickman is on top in guard.
Hickman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mask has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hickman has managed to get both his arms back between Mask's legs - danger averted. Hickman passes into half guard. Hickman passes to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hickman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mask is looking to escape. Mask tries to control Hickman's body but Hickman pushes him off. Mask squirms to his side and now Hickman has his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mask trying to control the hands but Hickman won't let him. Hickman is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hickman struggling to keep hold of the position.

Dick Hickman had his way with Tiger Mask in that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Hickman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mask. Mask uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hickman. Mask takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Mask darts in trying to clinch and Mask takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mask uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hickman.

Mask fails with a takedown attempt. A combination from Hickman does no damage. Nice straight punches there by Hickman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hickman. Hickman getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mask throws a body punch but Hickman moves out of range. Hickman is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Mask keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hickman. Hickman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mask. Mask tries to move into range but Hickman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Mask. Hickman does a little dance to reset his feet. Mask rushes Hickman and presses him up against the cage. Mask has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mask works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hickman is looking to stand up but Mask isn't so interested in that idea. Hickman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mask stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hickman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hickman has control of Mask's left arm, preventing Mask from doing any damage. Hickman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mask is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mask working some strikes from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mask preventing the sweep. Mask missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mask with a flurry of punches that miss. Tiger Mask has got the better of the ground game so far. Hickman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Mask trying to control but Hickman is working from the bottom. Hickman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Mask sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mask wants to clinch. Hickman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Mask is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hickman rather than just go for the knockout. Hickman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mask counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mask postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mask with a nice head shot there. Mask trying to control the position from guard on top but Hickman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hickman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mask.
And that's the end of the fight! Tiger Mask comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mask has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
