PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Danneskjold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danneskjold kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dragonforce - Operation Ground and Pound. Simpson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Forgotten kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Simpson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Danneskjold manages to avoid it.
Simpson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Danneskjold rather than just go for the knockout.

Simpson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Danneskjold sprawls well initially but Simpson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Danneskjold wants to get back to full guard but Simpson has mounted him!

Simpson is working for a guillotine from mount but Danneskjold frees his head quite easily.
Simpson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Danneskjold's face.

Simpson wants to finish this one by submission but Danneskjold is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Simpson.
Simpson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Danneskjold because Simpson loaded up on that one.
Danneskjold sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Danneskjold is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Simpson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Danneskjold looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson breaks from Danneskjold's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Danneskjold holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Simpson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Danneskjold tries to hold on but Simpson pushes him away.
The referee warns Danneskjold that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Simpson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Danneskjold is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Danneskjold flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Simpson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Danneskjold and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Simpson slips an arm under Danneskjold chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Simpson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Simpson is squeezing on Danneskjold like an anaconda would it's prey. Danneskjold fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
