Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Butch Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Williams might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sunshine of Your Love. Demian Rocha has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demian Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Rocha misses with a low kick.
Rocha misses with a leg kick.
Williams throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rocha throws a leg kick that misses.
Rocha throws out a leg kick but Williams moves out of range and Rocha only half commits.
Rocha scores with a nice strike.
Rocha leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rocha looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Williams!
Rocha misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Williams tries to lock up and control but Rocha gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rocha goes for an armbar but Williams turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Williams.
Rocha is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Williams dives into side control.

Rocha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Williams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A lull in the action here.
Williams grinds an elbow into Rocha's temple.

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rocha is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Williams throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rocha works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rocha is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back!

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
I really don't envy Williams right now.
Rocha throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Williams tries to escape the position.

Rocha wants to control the action but instead Williams gets a body lock and reverses into Rocha's guard! Nice work!
Williams won't allow Rocha to sweep him here.

Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Williams loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rocha looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Williams lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rocha not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Rocha manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Williams tries to reverse the position but Rocha maintains control.

Rocha sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Williams holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rocha tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rocha looking to ground and pound but Williams is blocking nicely.
Williams tries to hold on but Rocha postures up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocha lands with a punch from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Demian Rocha dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rocha throws a leg kick that misses.
Williams pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Williams takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt
and Rocha counters with a good low kick that Williams was not able to check.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Rocha shows good takedown defense.
Williams works over Rocha's head and body with a nice combination.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Rocha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rocha wants to stand up but Williams is controlling him.
Williams lands a couple of elbows.
Williams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rocha tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Rocha is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rocha can't keep his opponent in guard - Williams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rocha makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rocha.

Rocha has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.
Rocha avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rocha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Williams tries for a kimura but Rocha is defending well.
Williams wants to control but Rocha is keeping him busy.
Williams misses with the ground and pound.
Rocha wants to control but Williams postures up.
Rocha takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Rocha manages to work his way to half guard, despite Williams's best efforts.
Rocha is staying active underneath Williams, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Williams in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rocha tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Williams!
