Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Li! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Cunns II! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Cunns II. Li does a little dance to reset his feet. Cunns II lands a glancing blow to the side of Li's head.
It looks like Brian Li has been cut. Cunns II leaves Li with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Brian Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Li with that takedown attempt. Li throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cunns II tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Li is in Cunns II's guard. Li thows a big elbow that misses. Li postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cunns II wants to stand up but Li is controlling him. Li scoring with punches to the head and body. Li trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cunns II is trying to keep Li in close.
Cunns II working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Li. Li with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Li is looking to work some ground and pound but Cunns II has wrist control. Li thows a big elbow that misses. Li trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Li lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cunns II working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Li. Li chips away with some ground and pound. Li throws and elbow that misses. Cunns II uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Li's guard. Nice move by Cunns II! Li working a defensive guard here.
Li will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Li looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cunns II is one step ahead there. Li is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Li is trying to control the position but Cunns II postures up. Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Li has Cunns II pulled in close to control his posture. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Cunns II stopping the sweep attempt from Li. Li lands a decent punch to the body there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Li throwing shots but Cunns II is blocking nicely. Li looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Cunns II is not content to let Li control the position. Li works his way into full mount! Li landing punches.
It looks like Mark Cunns II has been cut. Cunns II looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Li fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Li content just to control the position here.

Li lands with some strikes. Li is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cunns II can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
