Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rj Paned! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Spider! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spider digs a good body shot into Paned's ribs. Spider fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Paned has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Spider throws a head kick but Paned moves out of range.
Paned changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spider looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. You can see the frustration on Spider's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Spider manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Spider seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Paned kicks Spider off and gets back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paned moves out of range of the body kick from Spider.
Spider connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Paned's hands. Paned really is a fat lump. Spider dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Paned. That did some damage! Paned is breathing heavily. Paned avoids the head kick by Spider.
Anderson Spider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paned fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spider sprawls well initially but Paned persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spider is trying to stand.
Paned decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Paned dodges the punch combination from Spider.
Paned closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Spider to the mat! Spider manages to get full guard. Paned sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Spider's guard. Paned not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Spider trying to control here.
Spider is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Paned is staying active. Paned wants to pass the guard but Spider is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paned stands up out of the half guard. Sloppy strikes from Spider. Those never looked like landing. Paned walks forward, straight into a front kick from Spider. Spider is looking to slow Paned down with leg kicks. Spider throws a leg kick but Paned sees it coming and checks it nicely. Paned misses with a few strikes there.
Paned takes a kick to the side of the head. Paned misses with a series of wild punches.

Paned closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Spider quickly recovers to half guard. Spider trying to control from the bottom.
Spider is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Paned's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Paned's back! Paned rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Paned might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Paned tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paned has one foot on Spider's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Paned takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rj Paned will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Spider looks to score with a jab to the body but Paned is just out of range. Paned scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A lull in the action here as Paned stalls from top position. Paned stands up and beckons Spider to his feet. Spider throws a head kick that misses. Paned bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Paned controls the position. Paned creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spider is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Paned is controlling him well. Rj Paned overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paned advances to mount. Spider wants to hold on but Paned pushes him away. Paned content just to control the position here. A nice elbow there by Paned. Spider working to try and regain half guard.
Spider wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Spider's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

What can Spider do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Paned has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Spider grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Paned keeps control of the position easily here as Spider tries to buck him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paned is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Paned gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Paned gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Paned apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Paned moves into range and clinches up with Spider. A frustrated look appears on Paned's face as he tries to break the clinch. Spider wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Paned turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Paned manages to end up in side control. Spider tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paned working the head with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paned decides to stand up, so the ref orders Spider to his feet. Rj Paned is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spider throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Spider throws a leg kick but Paned checks it. Paned takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Paned moves out of range of the strikes. A momentary lapse in concentration from Spider enables Paned to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spider manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Paned controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Spider controls Paned momentarily but Paned frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rj Paned dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paned works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spider is trying to keep Paned in close.
Paned with a flurry of punches that miss. Paned is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Paned controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Paned won't allow Spider to get back to his feet. Paned passes into half guard. Paned controlling the action here. Spider has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Paned is working away from the top position though. Paned stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Spider is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Paned moves out of range of the strikes. Paned throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spider was covering up waiting for the punch and Paned finishes the takedown easily into guard. Paned forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paned slows the pace down in half guard. Spider trying to hold on to Paned's head to control him but Paned postures up.
Paned throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spider tries to roll over but Paned keeps him under control.
And that's the end of the fight! Rj Paned showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paned, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
