Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Rezende (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rezende has chosen Tropa de Elite - Tihuana as his entrance music. Antonio Rezende has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jesse Jones's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesse Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Rezende! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rezende throws a sloppy head kick and Jones counters with a head kick that drops Rezende to the mat! Rezende scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Rezende is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rezende tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rezende somewhat. Rezende fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rezende drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rezende misses with the ground and pound. You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rezende creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Rezende throwing strikes but Jones manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Rezende being controlled for a moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rezende can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rezende for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jones working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
We're going to have a standup here because Jesse Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rezende throws a head kick that misses and Jones counters with a big head kick but Rezende shrugs it off. Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Jones throws a leg kick but Rezende sees it coming and checks it nicely. Jones lands a big head kick that sends Rezende tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Rezende back to his feet - he wants the finish! Rezende is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
It looks like Antonio Rezende has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones misses with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Jones. Rezende seems to have recovered his senses. A nice inside leg kick there by Jones. That's going to slow Rezende down. Jones tries to clinch but Rezende moves out of range. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Rezende shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jesse Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Rezende. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A head kick by Rezende misses and Jones counters with a flying knee that drops Rezende! Jones dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesse Jones!
