Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Datu Unsay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Marchand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Datu Unsay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Byron Marchand! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marchand lets loose with a powerful body kick. Unsay will feel that in the morning. Marchand thumps Unsay with a low kick. Nice defenses there by Marchand. Marchand connects with a solid leg kick. Marchand gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Unsay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Marchand is looking to land body kicks. Unsay moves out of range of the body kick from Marchand.
Unsay stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Unsay wants it to stay on the feet. Unsay just misses with a punch to the body.
Marchand keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Unsay throws a lazy head kick and Marchand makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Unsay really felt that one! Byron Marchand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Unsay takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
That's one minute gone in the round. Unsay throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A head kick by Unsay misses and Marchand counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Unsay walks forward, straight into a front kick from Marchand. Unsay blocks the body kick.
A good leg kick by Marchand. A looping hook to the body misses from Marchand. Unsay does a little dance to reset his feet. Marchand scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Marchand thows a huge punch but Unsay dodges it nicely.
Marchand wants to control but Unsay is keeping him busy. Marchand passes the guard and advances to mount! Unsay tries to hold on but Marchand pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marchand in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Poor strikes thrown by Marchand there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Unsay tries to reverse the position but Marchand maintains control. Unsay tries to hold on but Marchand pushes him away. Marchand working Unsay over with strikes here. Unsay keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Unsay tries to hold on but Marchand postures up. Marchand working away from the top, dropping strikes. Unsay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marchand on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Unsay avoids a series of strikes thrown by Marchand.
Unsay reaches up and holds on to Marchand to control the position. Marchand is in the full mount, landing strikes. Marchand has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marchand looking to ground and pound but Unsay is blocking nicely. Marchand wants to finish this one by submission but Unsay is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Marchand. Marchand lands with some strikes. Marchand is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Unsay has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Unsay wants to hold on but Marchand pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Unsay is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Marchand lands a big elbow. Marchand lands a heavy elbow. The referee warns Unsay that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Unsay is rocked! Marchand swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Unsay is now in Marchand's guard. A big mistake from Marchand there, giving up the dominant position! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Unsay has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marchand is proving hard to escape from. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Unsay trying to control but Marchand is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Byron Marchand dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Marchand paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Datu Unsay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Marchand fails with the takedown. Unsay misses with a combination
and Marchand counters with a good low kick that Unsay was not able to check. Marchand throws a head kick that half lands.
Marchand has his takedown stuffed and Unsay counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Marchand throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Unsay lands a nice shot to the body.
Marchand is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marchand scores with a kick to the body.
Unsay looks to throw the jab but Marchand is out of range. Unsay throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Marchand counters with a nice body kick. Marchand darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Unsay swings away with a body shot that misses
and Marchand counters with a thumping low kick. Marchand shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Unsay counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Datu Unsay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Byron Marchand. Unsay chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marchand can pounce on him.
Marchand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sloppy strikes from Unsay. Those never looked like landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Unsay thows a body shot but no joy. Unsay sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Unsay misses with a combination
and Marchand counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Unsay is lucky that one didn't land flush. A nice leg kick lands there from Marchand. Marchand is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Unsay's half guard. Unsay is trying to get back to full guard. Unsay is trying to stand back up but Marchand is controlling him
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Unsay trying to control but Marchand postures up.
Marchand not landing any meaningful shots this time. Marchand is looking to take a break and control but Unsay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Marchand might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Unsay kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Marchand looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Unsay looks like he's trying to stand up.
Unsay wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Marchand is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Unsay's half guard. Unsay pushes Marchand off looking to stand but Marchand dives back in and keeps control.
Marchand is trying to work for a kimura but Unsay is defending well.

Marchand is trying to control the action in half guard but Unsay is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Unsay is trying to get back to full guard. Unsay has hold of Marchand's hands but Marchand slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Byron Marchand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Unsay is looking to wear down Marchand with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Marchand lands a head kick!
Marchand shoots in looking for a takedown. Unsay tries to sprawl out of it but Marchand keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Unsay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Marchand throws a head kick that misses. Unsay throws a right and a left that both miss. Marchand fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Unsay misses with a combination
and Marchand counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Unsay's guard now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marchand lands a couple of decent looking shots. Marchand won't allow Unsay to get back to his feet. Marchand looking to pass the guard. Marchand is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Marchand stands and throws Unsay's legs to the side, diving into side control. Unsay is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Marchand's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Unsay is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Unsay blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marchand. Marchand scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Unsay trying to get back to full guard but Marchand takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Marchand scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Unsay?
Marchand can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Unsay is looking to escape. Unsay is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marchand thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Marchand jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Unsay is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Unsay and Marchand has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Unsay defending against the ground and pound. Unsay keeping his opponent close. Marchand sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Unsay is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Marchand passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Unsay!

Marchand is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Unsay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Unsay shrugs it off. Unsay is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Marchand lands a heavy elbow. Unsay in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Unsay is looking to improve his position but Marchand isn't that keen on the idea. Byron Marchand has got the better of the ground game so far. Marchand looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Datu Unsay has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marchand lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Unsay hang on?
And that's the end of the fight! Byron Marchand comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Marchand has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
