The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Cunha has his takedown stuffed
and da Cunha takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
An inside leg kick lands from McGenessy.
McGenessy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
da Cunha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGenessy's waist but McGenessy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing da Cunha off to one side.
McGenessy tries a head kick but it misses.

and da Cunha counters with a single leg into guard. McGenessy didn't expect that.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGenessy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
