Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Capone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Capone might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Godfather Theme Song. Vinnie Capone could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alex Johnson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Vinnie Capone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Capone manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Capone is keeping the position. Capone has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Capone is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well. Capone lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson! Capone unloading with bombs! Capone is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.
Johnson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Capone cracks Johnson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Capone with good strikes from the mount here! Capone is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Capone. Capone is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Johnson is looking to get to half guard. Johnson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Johnson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Capone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Capone. Capone passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Capone working Johnson over with strikes here. Capone is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Johnson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Johnson! Johnson won't allow Capone to sweep him here. Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Capone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Capone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Capone passes into half guard.
Capone takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Capone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson looks gassed! Johnson is trying to stand up here but Capone is controlling him well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Capone lands a nice short elbow. Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Capone.
Capone working Johnson over with strikes. Capone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Capone is trying for a kimura here. Johnson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Capone wins by kimura!
