Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Hawthorn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gg Allin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawthorn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Allin circles away quickly and effectively. No joy there for Hawthorn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Marcus Hawthorn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hawthorn throws a right hand that Allin ducks under and follows up with a left that Allin also avoids with ease. Allin tries for a takedown but Hawthorn circles away easily and Hawthorn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Danga de danga de dang - Hawthorn scores with a four punch combination! Hawthorn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Allin tries for a takedown but Hawthorn circles away easily and Hawthorn counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Hawthorn misses with a wild combination.
Allin avoids the head kick by Hawthorn.
Hawthorn connects with a jab. Allin shoots in and gets a takedown into Hawthorn's guard. Allin looking to pass the guard. Allin has gone for a leg lock! Hawthorn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Allin's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Allin looking to control but Hawthorn passes into half guard.
Allin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hawthorn thows a huge punch but Allin dodges it nicely.
Hawthorn is nestled in close to Allin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Allin is trying to get back to full guard. Hawthorn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Allin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Allin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hawthorn pulls his head out easily. Allin tries to get to full guard but Hawthorn has control of the leg. Hawthorn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawthorn is keen to just control but Allin is a slippery customer. Allin moves into full guard.
Hawthorn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Allin on the ground. Hawthorn sitting in guard here, content to control. Hawthorn postures up in Allin's guard and throws a big left but Allin blocks it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Allin is on top in guard.
Allin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hawthorn dives on top into guard. Allin has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hawthorn doesn't defend quickly enough and Allin has managed to lock this one up! Can Hawthorn escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Allin on a fantastic submission victory.
