Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tunturi Pony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wyatt Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tunturi Pony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wyatt Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like Tunturi Pony has been cut.

Pony drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pony looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Armstrong is avoiding damage well.
Pony in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Pony working the strikes but Armstrong uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Pony takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pony stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armstrong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pony postures up in Armstrong's guard and throws a big left but Armstrong blocks it.

Armstrong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pony thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Pony is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Armstrong cracks a nice hook into Pony's ribs.

Pony throws a body punch but Armstrong moves out of range.
Armstrong throws a hook but Pony blocks it.
Armstrong pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Armstrong gets caught flat footed, as Pony shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pony has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pony in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Armstrong avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Armstrong working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pony.
Pony slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pony lands a few punches from side control.
Pony tries to move to mount but Armstrong blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pony misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Pony works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Armstrong is not content to let Pony control the position.

A lull in the action here as Pony stalls from top position.

Pony working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Pony throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Pony wants to control but Armstrong is keeping him busy.
Pony misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

You can see the frustration on Armstrong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Armstrong is not content to let Pony control the position.
Armstrong regains half guard, as Pony was trying to land strikes.
Armstrong should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Armstrong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Armstrong is staying active underneath Pony, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Nice shot lands for Armstrong.
Pony shoots in looking for a takedown. Armstrong tries to sprawl out of it but Pony keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Armstrong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pony shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Armstrong's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pony has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armstrong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wyatt Armstrong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Pony bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Armstrong's guard.
Pony throws a big right hand that misses.
Pony slips nicely into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pony is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pony has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Armstrong's face.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pony cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pony wants to control the pace but Armstrong is squirming around nicely.
Pony throwing strikes here but Armstrong is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Pony trying to control but he's not successful this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tunturi Pony showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pony, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
