Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a double jab
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Carwin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Johnson has Carwin up against the ropes in a clinch.
Johnson is pressed up against the ropes. Carwin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnson down to the mat. Johnson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Carwin.

Carwin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.

Johnson gets to his feet - Carwin follows without any prompting.
Carwin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carwin somewhat.

The referee warns Carwin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Carwin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Carwin is having none of it.

Carwin shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carwin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Carwin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carwin gets slowly back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paul Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carwin did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
