Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joachim Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the ring accompanied by Pendulum - Blood Sugar. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joachim Hansen !
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva cracks Hansen with an open hand slap.
Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hansen in his tracks.
Hansen throws a sloppy head kick
and Silva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hansen thinking.
Silva throws a lazy uppercut
and Hansen counters with an outside leg kick.
A low kick from Hansen is predictable there
and Silva counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Joachim Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Hansen thows a leg kick but Silva checks it
and Silva counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hansen tries to score with a low kick but Silva moves his leg out of the way.
Hansen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Silva swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hansen .
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hansen slips a straight right by Silva.
Hansen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hansen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Hansen .
Hansen throws a leg kick but Silva moved away.
Silva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hansen .
Silva scores with a decent looking hook.
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hansen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hansen throws a lazy head kick
and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen is looking to chop away at Silva's legs.
Hansen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva.
Silva lands a jab to Hansen 's midsection.
Silva throws a good cross that connects.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hansen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hansen looks gassed!
Silva throws a good cross that connects.
Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Silva waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hansen .
Hansen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A left lands for Silva.
Hansen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hansen is rocked!
BOOM! Silva lands a beautiful left hook that drops Hansen . Hansen tries to recover but Silva is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Hansen lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wanderlei Silva!
