Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolay Baskov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baskov has chosen Nikolay Baskov - You are far from me as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. James Green has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, James Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Nikolay Baskov!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green tries to clinch up.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Baskov checks a leg kick.
Green throws an overhand right that lands on Baskov's shoulder, as Baskov tries to avoid the shot.
Green is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Baskov scores with a kick to the body.
Baskov throws a hook but Green blocks it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Green crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Baskov - the referee stops the clock and Green gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Baskov. Green manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Green throws a hook but Baskov avoids it easily.
Baskov misses with a looping right.
Green is looking to clinch.
Baskov swings widly with a right hand

and Green counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baskov looking for a guillotine here but Green defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Green trying to control the position from guard on top but Baskov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Green trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baskov wants to get back to his feet but Green is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Baskov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Baskov is on top in guard.

Green has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baskov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Green is pressing down on Baskov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Baskov stands up and waves to Green to follow him.
Baskov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Green closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Baskov did well to prevent Green getting side control.
Baskov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Green is pushing down on Baskov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Baskov is fighting to maintain full guard but Green has managed to sneak the leg through.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baskov pushes Green off looking to stand but Green dives back in and keeps control.
Baskov tries to get to full guard but Green has control of the leg.
Green has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Baskov wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Green has control of Baskov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Baskov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Baskov is looking to get to half guard.

Green gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Baskov closes the distance but Green moves to the side
and Green counters with a nice body shot.
Baskov drops his hands momentarily and Green takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baskov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Green counters with a nice double leg into side control. Baskov won't be happy with that.
Baskov is pushing Green's head away, looking to escape. Green manages to hold on to the position though.
Green advances to mount.

Green is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Baskov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Baskov shrugs it off.

Baskov defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Green.
Baskov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Green putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Green fails to advance to Baskov's back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baskov tries to buck Green off but he can't manage it.
Green avoids the attempt from Baskov to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baskov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Green dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Baskov throws a sloppy head kick and Green moves out of range easily.
Baskov fails with the takedown
and Green counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Green bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Baskov wants to control but Green postures up.
Green has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Green looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Green works his way to his opponent's back.
Baskov wants to get back to his feet.
Green wants to control but Baskov manages to buck him off and is now in Green's guard! Nice work there by Baskov!

Green is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Green controls Baskov momentarily but Baskov frees himself.

Baskov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baskov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Baskov stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nikolay Baskov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Green moves out of range of the strikes.
Baskov misses with a head kick.
Baskov tries to clinch but Green moves out of range.
Baskov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Baskov throws a jab but it's blocked by Green.
Baskov throws a left and a right that both miss

and Green counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Green is pressing down on Baskov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Baskov is holding on for now.

Baskov is trying to get back to full guard.

Green is looking for a kimura here.

Green trying to mount his opponent but Baskov defends it.
Baskov flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Baskov drops back looking for a leg! Green is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Green manages to kick Baskov off! Baskov jumps back into Green's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Green working for a triangle but Baskov defends it easily.

Baskov gets to his feet. Green looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Green moves out of range as Baskov strikes.
Baskov misses with a right hand
and Green counters with a thumping low kick.
Green misses the jab.
Baskov needs to keep his hands up - Green had a free shot at his head there.
Baskov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Green throws out the jab.
Baskov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Baskov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Green counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Green dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Baskov misses with a hook

and Green counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Baskov!
Green avoids the attempt from Baskov to control.

Green is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baskov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baskov!

Green had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Baskov defends it easily.

Green escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Baskov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Baskov wants to stand but Green has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Baskov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Green, up you get!

Baskov wants to clinch up but Green keeps it at a distance.

Baskov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Green is looking for a sweep.

Baskov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ground and pound from Baskov seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Baskov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Green sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Green makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Green.
Green avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Baskov stands up from Green's guard - Baskov perhaps looking for a knockout.

Green changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Baskov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Green wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baskov, who protects the arm well.
Green wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baskov keeps working.

Green goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Baskov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Green but great work by Baskov.

Green is looking to regain half guard here but Baskov keeps moving and retains side control.

Baskov stands up.
Baskov throws a right and a left that Green avoids nicely.
Baskov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Baskov throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Green to counter with a crisp jab.
Baskov swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Green counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Baskov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Green.
Baskov misses with a series of wild punches.
Baskov throws a right hand that misses
and Green counters with a left and a right that stings Baskov.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Baskov fails to pull guard.

Baskov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Green jabs at Baskov's body.
Baskov lands a two punch combo.
Baskov throws a hook to the side of Green's head but Green sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Green scores with a nice right hand.
A big left from Green misses.

Baskov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Green manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Baskov thows a big elbow that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Green has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baskov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Baskov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nikolay Baskov.
I think Green has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
