Marshall's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Breathe -- Disturbed. Manliest is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ontlogy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doug Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Manliest!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manliest uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Marshall.
Marshall looks for the body kick but Manliest saw that one coming.
A bone on bone clash there as Manliest blocks the leg kick.
Doug Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marshall throws a head kick that misses.
Manliest slips a straight right by Marshall.
Manliest blocks a jab.
Marshall lands a high kick!


It looks like The Manliest has been cut.
Marshall fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Marshall goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Manliest is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Manliest has his takedown stuffed
and Marshall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marshall throws a head kick that misses.

Manliest uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Marshall.
Manliest defending well as Marshall loads up on a big left hand.
Marshall connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Manliest's hands.
Marshall throws a shot from downtown. Manliest moves away and avoids it.
Marshall takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Manliest shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Manliest is trying to control. Marshall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Manliest throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Marshall is pressing down on Manliest's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Marshall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Manliest passes into half guard.
Manliest trying to control the action but Marshall is working from the bottom.
Manliest has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Marshall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Marshall is trying to stand up here but Manliest is controlling him well.
Manliest wants to free his trapped foot but Marshall is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Marshall moves into full guard.
Manliest with a flurry of punches that miss.
Marshall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Manliest has gone for a leg lock! Marshall slips out almost immediately though and dives into Manliest's guard.

Marshall stands up from Manliest's guard - Marshall perhaps looking for a knockout.
Marshall lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Manliest with a poor takedown
and Manliest takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Marshall scores with a shot to the body.
Marshall throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Doug Marshall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marshall connects with a solid leg kick.

Manliest fails with the takedown
and Marshall counters with a low kick, right behind Manliest 's knee.
Doug Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Manliest.
Manliest ducks under a wild hook from Marshall.
Manliest avoids a kick to the body.
A shot to the liver by Marshall. Beautiful body shot.
Manliest moves out of range of the strikes.
Marshall throws an overhand right that lands on Manliest's shoulder, as Manliest tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Manliest gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Marshall makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Marshall dominated that round.
The cut man is working on The Manliest's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Marshall plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Manliest takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Manliest sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Marshall lands a nice looking kick to the body. Manliest takes a step back to recover.
Marshall throws a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Manliest takes a kick to the side of the head.
Manliest with a poor takedown
and Marshall counters with a nice leg kick.
Manliest is breathing heavily.
Marshall connects with a body shot that sends Manliest's belly button to the back.
Good shot there by Marshall.

Manliest steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Marshall. That one must have hurt.
Marshall lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Manliest chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marshall can pounce on him.
Marshall throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Marshall throws a nice inside leg kick.
Marshall throws a wild body kick that Manliest sees coming a mile off.
Manliest on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


That has opened up The Manliest's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Marshall lands a big head kick that sends Manliest tumbling to the mat! Marshall takes a step backwards and waves Manliest back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Manliest is rocked!
Marshall lands a slapping body shot.
Manliest is still on wobbly legs! Can Marshall finish him?

Manliest has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marshall.
Manliest seems to have recovered his senses.
Marshall lands a leg kick that knocks Manliest off balance momentarily.
Doug Marshall is winning the standup battle so far.
Marshall throws a sloppy head kick and Manliest moves out of range easily.
Marshall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Manliest on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Marshall. Marshall obviously looking to wear him down.
Manliest's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Marshall lands with a thumping leg kick.
Manliest's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Marshall connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Manliest scrambles back to his feet.


The cut above The Manliest's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Marshall throws a shot from downtown. Manliest moves away and avoids it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Marshall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marshall misses with a body kick.
Marshall tries to land a front kick but Manliest steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Marshall misses with an uppercut.
Marshall scores with a punch to the head.
Marshall lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Manliest at a distance.
Manliest walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


The Manliest's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Marshall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Manliest can do to turn this around?
Manliest takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Marshall jabs Manliest right on the nose. Manliest blinks but takes it well.

Marshall throws a head kick but Manliest moves out of range.
Marshall works the jab nicely.
Marshall connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Manliest misses with a takedown attempt
and Marshall counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Manliest avoids the body shot from Marshall.
Marshall plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at The Manliest's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
