Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain HM Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murdock is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by A-Team . Captain HM Murdock is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Neil Fisher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Captain HM Murdock! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murdock swinging wildly here.
Murdock misses with an uppercut. Fisher saw that one coming. Murdock missing with a left hand there. Fisher was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Fisher could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Fisher feints and as Murdock raises his hands in defense, Fisher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fisher is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fisher might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Neil Fisher. Murdock pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisher looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fisher passes to side control. Fisher slows the pace down. Murdock is trying to get back to his feet. Fisher takes a little break here. Murdock wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Murdock is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fisher asserts his dominance and retains side control. Fisher is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Neil Fisher just wasn't active enough. A telegraphed right hand from Murdock misses the target. Murdock pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Murdock throws a shot from downtown. Fisher moves away and avoids it. Murdock misses with a double jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fisher get's back to his feet. Fisher moves in looking to clinch but Murdock pushes him off. Murdock misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fisher takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Murdock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fisher moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Murdock misses with a two punch combination.

Murdock looks gassed! Fisher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Murdock manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fisher controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Fisher forces his way into half guard. Fisher sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Fisher dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Murdock throws the left hand but Fisher avoids the punch easily. Fisher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Fisher sitting and controlling from the half guard. Fisher's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Fisher tries to pass to full mount but Murdock defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fisher is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fisher decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Murdock, up you get! Murdock throws a right hand that Fisher ducks under and follows up with a left that Fisher also avoids with ease. Fisher will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fisher dodges the punch combination from Murdock.
Murdock misses with an uppercut. Murdock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fisher. Captain HM Murdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Murdock does no damage. Fisher feints and as Murdock raises his hands in defense, Fisher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Murdock wants to get back to his feet but Fisher is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Murdock is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murdock can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fisher controls the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Neil Fisher wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Some wild striking there from Murdock.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Murdock enables Fisher to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murdock manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fisher content to stall in guard here. Fisher has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Neil Fisher has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Fisher misses with a takedown attempt - Murdock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neil Fisher. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fisher moves away from the strike by Murdock. Murdock looks to land a right hand but Fisher moved out of range. Fisher shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fisher was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fisher sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murdock can do anything to dispel that myth. Murdock wants to try and get back to his feet.
