Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yonsil Clanger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clanger kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Little Jinder - Youth Blood (12th Planet and Flinch Remix) . Vargas has chosen Break the Chain -- Lupe Fiasco as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Alex Vargas enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yonsil Clanger! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Vargas! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clanger throws a body kick the misses and Vargas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Clanger is refusing to be controlled, as Vargas sits in half guard. Clanger slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Vargas won't allow Clanger to sweep him here. Clanger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vargas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas wants to control from the top but Clanger keeps moving. Clanger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vargas's guard. Clanger stops Vargas from standing up. Vargas is pulling down on Clanger's head to control his posture. Clanger controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Clanger stops Vargas from standing up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Clanger postures up in Vargas's guard and throws a big left but Vargas blocks it. Clanger drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vargas dives on top into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vargas passes into half guard. Clanger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vargas is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clanger moves into full guard.

Clanger takes a swing at Vargas's ribcage but misses. Clanger misses with a kick to the body and Vargas counters with a straight right hand. Vargas takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vargas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clanger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Vargas tries to move into full mount but can't pass Clanger's legs. Clanger is not content to let Vargas control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clanger is looking for a sweep. Clanger is trying to control Vargas's posture but Vargas avoids it. Clanger regains half guard. Clanger slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Clanger throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vargas uses it to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vargas looking to control but instead Clanger has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Vargas wants to take a breather but Clanger is having none of it. Vargas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Clanger is trying to get back to full guard.

Vargas is trying to control. Clanger wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Vargas is thwarting Clanger's attempts to control the position. Vargas trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Clanger looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vargas tries to pass to full mount but Clanger defends it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Vargas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action!
Vargas lands a right hook to the body.
Clanger takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Clanger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vargas doesn't seem bothered though. Clanger takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Clanger throws a lazy body kick and Vargas counters with a nice leg kick. Vargas gets caught napping as Clanger dives in and scores a takedown. Vargas manages to retain guard. Clanger loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vargas looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Clanger wants to control from the top but Vargas keeps moving. Clanger working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vargas's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas controls Clanger momentarily but Clanger frees himself. Clanger is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Vargas trying to control the position.
Vargas wants to get back to his feet but Clanger is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Clanger controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Clanger takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vargas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Clanger. Clanger misses with a kick to the body and Vargas counters with a head kick. Clanger has his takedown stuffed and Vargas counters with a leg kick. Clanger showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vargas.
Vargas slips a jab from Clanger. Vargas has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Clanger. That kick from Clanger tenderised Vargas's leg. Vargas is trying to keep his angry face on. Vargas throws a body punch but Clanger moves out of range. Vargas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Vargas takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Clanger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vargas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Vargas moves out of range of the body kick from Clanger.
Clanger lands with a nice body kick. Yonsil Clanger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clanger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Clanger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Clanger thowing shots but they're missing. Clanger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Vargas is desperately trying to improve his position but Clanger has a good base and remains in mount. Clanger raining down shots from the mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vargas is squirming around, avoiding Clanger's attempts to control the action. Clanger lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That was a close round but Yonsil Clanger did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Clanger looks for the body kick but Vargas saw that one coming. Clanger cracks the inside of Vargas's front leg. Clanger misses with a left hand and Vargas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Clanger throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Vargas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Vargas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Clanger. That one must have hurt. Clanger connects with a jab. Clanger throws a leg kick and Vargas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Clanger closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vargas to the mat! Vargas manages to get full guard. Clanger throws a big right hand that misses. Clanger working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Vargas has control of Clanger's left arm, preventing Clanger from doing any damage. Yonsil Clanger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Clanger throwing strikes from guard but Vargas blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas has Clanger pulled in close to control his posture. Clanger wants to control from the top but Vargas keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vargas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alex Vargas wasn't active enough on the ground. Clanger lands a front kick. Clanger misses with a low kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Clanger.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Clanger looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Clanger! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Clanger working away. Clanger working the ground and pound. Clanger trying to control the action but Vargas is working from the bottom. Clanger goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vargas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Clanger but great work by Vargas. Clanger is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close fourth round but Alex Vargas will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Vargas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nice body kick there by Clanger. Clanger lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A slapping body kick lands there for Clanger. Clanger throws a wild body kick that Vargas sees coming a mile off. Clanger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A head kick misses from Clanger. Clanger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vargas's calf. Clanger shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vargas's guard. Clanger looking to sit in guard and control but Vargas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Clanger throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vargas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Clanger's guard. Clanger is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are battling for position here. Clanger manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Clanger looking to control.
