1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Love! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Love throws a nice inside leg kick. Love throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tatsuhiko Jr. Tatsuhiko Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Love. Love throws a solid leg kick but Tatsuhiko Jr takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Love. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Love throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tatsuhiko Jr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Tatsuhiko Jr trying to control the action but Love is working from the bottom. Love manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Tatsuhiko Jr throwing shots but Love is blocking nicely. Tatsuhiko Jr throws a strike but Love avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Tatsuhiko Jr advances position into side control! Love sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Love is trying to stand back up but Tatsuhiko Jr is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. Love tries to kick Tatsuhiko Jr off but Tatsuhiko Jr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Love is looking for a sweep. Tatsuhiko Jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Love has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tatsuhiko Jr is working away from the top position though. Tatsuhiko Jr wants to advance to full mount but Love doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Tatsuhiko Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Love swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tatsuhiko Jr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Tatsuhiko Jr throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatsuhiko Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Love is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tatsuhiko Jr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Love trying to control the position.
Love utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tatsuhiko Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Love is retaining full guard. Tatsuhiko Jr sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Love's guard. Tatsuhiko Jr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Tatsuhiko Jr is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Love is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tatsuhiko Jr wants to control from the top but Love keeps moving. Tatsuhiko Jr connects with a couple of short punches. Tatsuhiko Jr passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Love is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tatsuhiko Jr's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Love is looking to improve his position.

A bone on bone clash there as Tatsuhiko Jr blocks the leg kick.
Love attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Love goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Tatsuhiko Jr. Love does a little dance to reset his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Love fails with an attempt to clinch.

Larry Love seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Love tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tatsuhiko Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Love tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tatsuhiko Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away. Love moves in looking to clinch but Tatsuhiko Jr pushes him off. Love is looking to clinch. Love doesn't manage to clinch there - Tatsuhiko Jr circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tatsuhiko Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Tatsuhiko Jr throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Tatsuhiko Jr cracks Love with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The referee warns Love that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Love is rocked! Tatsuhiko Jr unloads with some shots from mount but Love bucks and avoids them well.
Love is still in real trouble! Can Tatsuhiko Jr finish him? Love regains half guard. Love seems to have recovered his senses. Love is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tatsuhiko Jr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Love knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tatsuhiko Jr throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatsuhiko Jr with the ground and pound but Love uses the opportunity to regain guard. Tatsuhiko Jr passes Love's left leg - he's now in half guard. Tatsuhiko Jr looks to land a strike but Love avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Tatsuhiko Jr pushes down on Love's leg and manages to get into half guard. Tatsuhiko Jr landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Tatsuhiko Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Love's head. Love wants to improve his position but Tatsuhiko Jr is controlling well.

Love keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Tatsuhiko Jr wants to control but Love is keeping him busy. Love wants to get back to his feet. Tatsuhiko Jr is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Love reverses the position - he's now on top in Tatsuhiko Jr's guard. Love trying to control the position from guard on top but Tatsuhiko Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Love is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Tatsuhiko Jr pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tatsuhiko Jr loads up with a big shot that hurts Love! He's pulled Tatsuhiko Jr in close but Tatsuhiko Jr has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Love survive? More strikes from Tatsuhiko Jr and Love is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
