The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Jason Steiner has been cut.
Jason Steiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Steiner with that takedown attempt.
Nice uppercut there from Diaz.
Diaz looks to land a combination but Steiner avoids it well.
Steiner shoots in but no luck this time.
Steiner misses with a shot to the body
and Diaz counters with a left to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Steiner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diaz but Diaz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jose Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Steiner.
Steiner looks gassed!
Diaz cracks Steiner with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Diaz has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Steiner to stand back up!
Steiner is rocked!
Steiner drops his hands for a split second and Diaz immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Steiner face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Diaz follows up with a right hand that knocks Steiner into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
