Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Szelep misses.
Cal lands a high kick!
Sloppy strikes from Szelep. Those never looked like landing.
Cal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Szelep darts in trying to clinch
and Cal moves into the clinch.
Szelep tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cal stalling in the clinch but Szelep improves position.

Cal manages to pull guard.

Szelep lands a couple of digs.
It looks like Jay Cal has been cut.
Szelep stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Szelep trying to control the position from guard on top but Cal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cal could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cal is breathing heavily.
Szelep pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cal is keeping the position for now.
Szelep content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Szelep scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
