Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xamos Othella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikolaj Kopernik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikolaj Kopernik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopernik throws a hook to the side of Othella's head but Othella sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Othella fails with the takedown
and Kopernik counters with a takedown into side control.
Othella tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kopernik wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kopernik looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kopernik has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Othella gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kopernik counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kopernik.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Othella controls Kopernik momentarily but Kopernik frees himself.
Kopernik wants to stand but Othella has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Othella is working an open guard so Kopernik takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Othella counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Othella.
Othella stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kopernik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kopernik pushes Othella off and gets back to his feet.

Kopernik throws a shot from downtown. Othella moves away and avoids it.

and Othella counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kopernik's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Othella drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kopernik dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kopernik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Othella has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kopernik has managed to get both his arms back between Othella's legs - danger averted.
Kopernik has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Othella is proving hard to escape from.
Othella throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Othella bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kopernik's guard.

Othella wants to control from the top but Kopernik keeps moving.
Othella stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kopernik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Othella drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kopernik manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Othella has Kopernik in his guard.
Othella lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kopernik!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Othella looking to control but Kopernik is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Othella with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kopernik's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kopernik holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Othella tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Othella is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kopernik is surviving well by controlling Othella's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Xamos Othella will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kopernik misses with a double jab.

Kopernik is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kopernik is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Othella moves into full guard.
Othella looking for a triangle here. Kopernik is fighting it but it looks tight! Othella pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kopernik is tapping out - this one is all over!
