Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Olan Payat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Mallao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Olan Payat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Mallao! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mallao feints and as Payat raises his hands in defense, Mallao changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Payat throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Mallao wants to control from the top but Payat keeps moving. Mallao slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mallao tries to free his leg and advance position but Payat is retaining full guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dave Mallao wasn't active enough on the ground. Mallao swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Payat counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Dave Mallao has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payat fails with the takedown and Mallao counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mallao. Mallao gets to his feet. Payat looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mallao closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mallao throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Payat wants to get back to his feet. Mallao wants to free his trapped foot but Payat is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mallao wants to stand up but Payat has a hold of him and won't allow it. Mallao sitting and controlling from the half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dave Mallao has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Payat blocks a head kick by Mallao.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mallao shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Mallao is looking to take a break and control but Payat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mallao throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Mallao trying to control from half guard but Payat is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mallao stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Mallao shoots in and bounces Payat off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Mallao trying to control but Payat is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Mallao dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dave Mallao's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mallao closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mallao lands in his opponent's guard. Payat uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Mallao scores a takedown into full mount! Payat working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mallao unloads with some shots from mount but Payat bucks and avoids them well.
Mallao throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Mallao moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Payat has worked his arm free - good work by Payat!
Payat can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Payat regains half guard there - taking advantage of Mallao's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mallao is looking to take a break and control but Payat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mallao is trying to work for a kimura but Payat is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mallao thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Payat is defending against the submission attempts here by Mallao.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mallao is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mallao takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Mallao showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dave Mallao's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Mallao closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mallao has knee on belly and moves into mount. Mallao goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Payat turns into him and now he's in Mallao's guard.
Payat looking to sit in guard and control but Mallao gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mallao with a flurry of punches that miss. Mallao got a little sloppy there for a moment and Payat has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mallao has managed to get both his arms back between Payat's legs - danger averted. Mallao wants to pass the guard but Payat is keeping the position. Payat doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Payat has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mallao off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Mallao shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Payat napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mallao is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Payat is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mallao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Payat keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mallao decides to stand up, so the ref orders Payat to his feet. Mallao shoots and misses and Payat counters with a shoot takedown. Mallao fights it but they end up in guard. Mallao is looking for a triangle but Payat pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mallao wants to hit a switch here but Payat passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mallao there! Mallao wants to hold on but Payat pushes him away. Payat content just to control the position here. Olan Payat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dave Mallao is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mallao tries to hold on but Payat pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Olan Payat. I think Mallao has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
