Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Casey Silk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn slips a jab and a cross from Silk.
Penn with a poor takedown and Silk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like DJ Penn has been cut. Silk misses with a head kick.
Silk avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Penn tries to clinch but Silk is having none of it. Casey Silk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silk lands a jab to Penn's midsection. A jab from Silk misses. Silk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silk but Silk pushes him off and we're back to square one. A big left from Penn misses. Penn slips a jab and a cross from Silk.
Penn shoots and misses and Silk counters with a single leg into guard. Penn didn't expect that. Casey Silk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Penn. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Silk is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Silk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Silk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Penn looks gassed! Silk lands a couple of digs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silk sitting in guard, not really doing much. Silk trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom. Silk in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Silk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Silk is working Penn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Silk scoring with some ground and pound. Silk stopping the sweep attempt from Penn. Silk trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom. Penn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Silk has picked Penn up and slammed him! Penn can't keep hold of the triangle and Silk manages to pass to side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silk wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Penn, who protects the arm well. Penn gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Silk looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Penn with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Silk frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Silk unloading with bombs! Silk with the ground and pound from mount. The referee warns Penn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Silk lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Silk with shots to the head and body - Penn looks very uncomfortable down there. Silk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Penn is desperately trying to improve his position but Silk has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silk looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Penn really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Penn is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Silk locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Penn is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Casey Silk!
