Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Murpy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Semaj Nedram! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murpy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Nedram. No joy for Murpy on that attempt. Nedram shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Murpy's guard. Nedram wants to control from the top but Murpy keeps moving. Nedram wants to pass the guard but Murpy is keeping the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Murpy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nedram's guard. Nedram is trying to keep Murpy in close.
Nedram wants to sweep here but Murpy controlling him for the moment. Murpy chips away with some ground and pound. Nedram really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murpy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Murpy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Nedram manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murpy gets back to full guard.
Murpy wants to sweep here but Nedram controlling him for the moment. Murpy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nedram gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nedram avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nedram trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Murpy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Murpy is breathing heavily. Nedram pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Murpy is keeping the position for now. Nedram trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Murpy keeping full guard, as Nedram tries to pass. Murpy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nedram stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murpy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nedram working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nedram is working Murpy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Murpy is looking for a triangle but Nedram pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nedram cracks Murpy with a solid left hand. Nedram chips away with some ground and pound. Murpy is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nedram rolls with it to try and escape but Murpy cranks on the arm and Nedram is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
