The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eremia shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rivera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Eremia pulls his head out easily.
Rivera works his way to full guard. Good work.

Rivera looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eremia is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Eremia is in close to Rivera's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Eremia could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Eremia chips away with some ground and pound.
Eremia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eremia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rivera lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Eremia!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rivera jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Eremia manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rivera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rivera postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rivera has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Eremia is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rivera yanks on the arm and Eremia is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rivera.
