Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Softy McSofterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heavy Hitter!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitter swings widly with a right hand
and McSofterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Heavy Hitter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hitter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McSofterson counters with a stiff right hand.
Hitter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hitter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hitter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McSofterson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hitter looks gassed!

McSofterson clinches up with Hitter and pushes him back against the ropes.
McSofterson cracks Hitter with a nice body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McSofterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hitter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and McSofterson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McSofterson.

McSofterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hitter slips a jab and a cross from McSofterson.

McSofterson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McSofterson lands in his opponent's guard.
McSofterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McSofterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McSofterson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hitter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McSofterson to score with a decent uppercut.

McSofterson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hitter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McSofterson is in Hitter's guard.

McSofterson gets to his feet - Hitter follows without any prompting.

McSofterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, McSofterson seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McSofterson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hitter for as long as he can get away with.
McSofterson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McSofterson stands up from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

McSofterson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
McSofterson controlling the action here.

McSofterson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hitter to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Softy McSofterson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



McSofterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McSofterson stalling.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McSofterson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Hitter is breathing heavily.
Hitter is trying to stand up here but McSofterson is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McSofterson content to control rather than advance.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Softy McSofterson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

McSofterson clinches up with Hitter and pushes him back against the ropes.

McSofterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hitter throws a right hand that misses
and McSofterson counters with a left to the body.

McSofterson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
McSofterson just content to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McSofterson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

McSofterson scores a takedown into full mount!

McSofterson working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hitter turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips McSofterson off and cradles Hitter's limp body as McSofterson celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Softy McSofterson!
