Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Flisberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spenser May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spenser May is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Flisberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spenser May! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flisberg looks for a takedown but May sprawls well. Flisberg shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has May pinned against the cage. May gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Flisberg looks to score with a jab to the body but May is just out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Flisberg is trying to break the clinch but May has him pressed against the cage. May is trying to maintain a safe position but Flisberg gets an underhook and turns May into the cage. May tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Flisberg pulls guard. Flisberg throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. May slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. You can see the frustration on Flisberg's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Flisberg is trying to get back to his feet. Flisberg gets back to half guard. May perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's one minute gone in the round. May works his foot free and advances to mount. Flisberg is looking to get to half guard. May is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! May stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Flisberg. That's going to take a lot out of him. May tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Flisberg counters by clinching up. May scores with a knee to the head.
Flisberg is breathing heavily. May breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. May misses with a head kick.
Flisberg is looking to chop away at May's legs. Flisberg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Spenser May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. May fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. May breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. May clinches but Flisberg breaks the clinch and Flisberg holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. May crunches a lovely knee into Flisberg's ribcage. May escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
May gets caught flat footed, as Flisberg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Flisberg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Flisberg stands up from guard. Let's bang! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! May stuffs the takedown. May stuffs the takedown attempt from Flisberg. Flisberg gets slowly back to his feet. Flisberg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with May, pushing him back against the cage. May is pressed up against the cage. Flisberg has hold of a leg and is looking to drag May down to the mat. May avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. May looks to clinch and Flisberg counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Flisberg. May throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Flisberg jumps guard but May stands there with Flisberg around his waist. Flisberg gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
May misses with a punch on the inside.
Flisberg tries to score a body lock takedown but May shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Flisberg managing to block the knees to the body from May.
May missing with knees to the body.
Flisberg is looking to break free of the clinch but May has double underhooks. Flisberg has had enough of the clinch but May keeps him there for the moment. Flisberg tries for a takedown. No joy.
May fails to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flisberg has May pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. May manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. May is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Flisberg gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Flisberg goes for a takedown attempt but May pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Flisberg misses with a takedown attempt and May counters with a double leg. Flisberg bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... May follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.
