Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ginger Mann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuuji Hanamoto! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann takes a swing at Hanamoto's ribcage but misses. Mann moves into range and clinches up with Hanamoto. Mann is trying to break the clinch but Hanamoto is controlling him. Mann's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mann misses with a straight right. Hanamoto shoots for a double leg takedown but Mann sprawls well. He's pushed Hanamoto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mann fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hanamoto manages to avoid it. Mann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mann scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hanamoto doesn't seem bothered though. Horrible takedown by Hanamoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Mann which made him look bad. Ginger Mann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shuuji Hanamoto. Hanamoto takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Hanamoto misses with a takedown attempt - Mann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mann lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hanamoto circles away quickly and effectively. Mann lands with an uppercut that bounces Hanamoto off the cage and back into rage. It looks like Shuuji Hanamoto has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A punch combination from Mann misses. Hanamoto moves out of range as Mann strikes. Mann throws a low kick but Hanamoto moves out of range easily. Hanamoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mann tries to avoid it but Hanamoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mann to the ground. Mann escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hanamoto circles away quickly and effectively. Mann doesn't manage to clinch there - Hanamoto circles away.
Mann connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Mann swinging wildly here.
Hanamoto fails with a takedown attempt. Mann misses with a two punch combination.
Mann moves into the clinch. Hanamoto drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mann pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mann misses with a wild body shot. Mann wants to clinch. Mann swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mann dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mann misses with a body shot.
Hanamoto scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanamoto looks up at the clock and then as Mann takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hanamoto smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanamoto tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mann's legs. Mann knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hanamoto on the ground. Hanamoto creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Mann manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hanamoto stalling. Hanamoto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mann's head. Hanamoto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mann wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Hanamoto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanamoto works his foot free and advances to mount. Mann takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Mann is working to get back to half guard.
Hanamoto tries to control but Mann wriggling away. Hanamoto connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hanamoto landing shots from mount. Mann is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
A big strike lands for Hanamoto! That's really hurt Mann and he's turned his back - Hanamoto keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hanamoto jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
