Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cole Tessier!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright shoots and misses
and Tessier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tessier swinging wildly here.
Tessier thows a body shot but no joy.
Tessier throws an off balance right hand
and Wright counters with a takedown into side control.
Tessier throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Wright doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tessier counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tessier throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wright counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tessier!
Wright is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tessier to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tessier shrugs it off.
Tessier is looking to get to half guard.
Wright controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tessier is desperately trying to improve his position but Wright has a good base and remains in mount.
Tessier wants to hold on but Wright pushes him away.
Tessier taking shots to the head.
Tessier tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wright controlling from the full mount.

Tessier tries to hold on but Wright postures up.
Tessier is trying desperately to improve position.

Tessier can't escape the position.
Tessier tries to lock up and control but Wright gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Tessier working to try and regain half guard.
Tessier is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Wright pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tessier is trying to stand.
Wright postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tessier looks a forlorn figure.
Tessier is rocked!
Tessier takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Wright's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Wright!
