The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
louco looks to clinch
and Benetiz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mario Benetiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benetiz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in louco's half guard.
Benetiz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
louco is not content to let Benetiz control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Benetiz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as louco works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Benetiz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but louco manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Benetiz has louco in his guard.
Benetiz is pulling down on louco's head. It's preventing any offense from louco, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Benetiz controls louco momentarily but louco frees himself.
louco is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Benetiz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Benetiz has escaped and now he's on top!

louco stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and louco wants it to stay on the feet.
louco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Benetiz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
louco shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Benetiz pinned against the cage. Benetiz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Benetiz is looking to clinch but louco is avoiding it.

Well Benetiz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
