Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between vitor augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cabrera looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cabrera looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cabrera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. augusto tries to avoid it but Cabrera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag augusto to the ground. augusto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cabrera scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cabrera fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. augusto sprawls well initially but Cabrera persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cabrera prevents augusto from standing back up.
Cabrera throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Cabrera trying to mount his opponent but augusto defends it.
Cabrera perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Cabrera tries to pass to full mount but augusto defends it.
Cabrera thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cabrera not landing any meaningful shots this time.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Cabrera cracks augusto with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cabrera lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cabrera throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
augusto takes a swing at Cabrera's ribcage but misses.
Cabrera throws a sloppy head kick and augusto moves out of range easily.
augusto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cabrera will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Cabrera wants to hit a switch here but augusto passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Cabrera there!
Cabrera is trying to escape the mount.

augusto blocks Cabrera's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
augusto sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
augusto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cabrera on the ground.
Cabrera is wriggling around trying to escape.
augusto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
augusto is breathing heavily.

Cabrera tries to lock up and control but augusto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
augusto looking to control but Cabrera is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cabrera slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Cabrera flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cabrera preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Cabrera is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but augusto pulls his head out easily.
Cabrera is pressing down on augusto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
augusto trying to control the position from guard on top but Cabrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cabrera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in augusto's guard.

augusto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cabrera content to stall in guard here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
augusto is trying to keep Cabrera in close.

Cabrera throws a front kick aimed at augusto's knee but augusto avoids it well.
augusto has closed the distance and engaged Cabrera in a clinch.

Cabrera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cabrera has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can augusto defend it? Cabrera steps over the head and cranks it - augusto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cabrera!
