Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pau Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Alvarez circles away.
Jackson with a poor takedown and Alvarez counters with a lovely straight right hand! Alvarez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jackson wants to control but Alvarez postures up. Alvarez controlling the position. Alvarez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jackson to his feet. Alvarez works over Jackson's head and body with a nice combination. Alvarez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackson's half guard. Alvarez decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Alvarez circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alvarez's guard now. Alvarez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alvarez is adopting a defensive guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alvarez wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position. Alvarez is working hard here to advance position. Alvarez stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Alvarez moves into full mount! Alvarez controlling his opponent. Alvarez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez breaks from Jackson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Alvarez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alvarez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jackson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson wants to hold on but Alvarez pushes him away. Jackson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Alvarez is staying active. Alvarez controlling from the full mount. Jackson looks gassed! Alvarez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jackson for as long as he can get away with. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Alvarez dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A slapping leg kick lands for Alvarez.
Alvarez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jackson looks to clinch and Alvarez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alvarez fails with the takedown. Alvarez looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well. Alvarez shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Alvarez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jackson has a takedown stuffed. Jackson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jab from Jackson. Jackson tries for a takedown but Alvarez circles away easily and Alvarez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alvarez tries to pass to full mount but Jackson defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson wants to control the action here but instead Alvarez manages to pass to full mount! Alvarez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Alvarez has a good base and remains in mount. Alvarez controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Alvarez working Jackson over with strikes here. Alvarez quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Alvarez but it's paid off an Jackson is forced to tap! Nice work by Alvarez.
