PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zei Rulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Rodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seth Rodd!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rulu pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Rulu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rodd napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rulu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Rodd is looking to regain half guard here but Rulu keeps moving and retains side control.

Rulu swings around for an armbar but Rodd sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rulu's guard.

Rulu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodd defends well.

Rodd postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rulu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rodd, into his guard.
Rulu keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rodd's head.
Rulu chips away with some ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rulu working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rodd's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rulu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rulu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Rulu pushing down on Rodd's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rulu is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rulu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rodd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rulu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rulu is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rulu uses his free foot to push down on Rodd's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rodd.
Rulu breaks from Rodd's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Rulu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rulu is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Rodd is forced to tap! Great finish!
