Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between jj avillanoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Ricardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). avillanoza comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - The Day That Never Comes. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
avillanoza connects with a high kick.
Ricardo tries to clinch but avillanoza moves away
and avillanoza counters by clinching up.
Ricardo trying to control the position but instead, avillanoza has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ricardo into the cage.
avillanoza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ricardo darts in trying to clinch
and avillanoza counters with a single leg into guard. Ricardo didn't expect that.
avillanoza gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
avillanoza throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Ricardo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in avillanoza's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
avillanoza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ricardo is controlling him.

Ricardo wants to control from the top but avillanoza keeps moving.

Ricardo fakes the leg kick and cracks avillanoza in the body.
Ricardo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has avillanoza pinned against the cage. avillanoza gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Ricardo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ricardo uses his free foot to push down on avillanoza's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for avillanoza.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ricardo wants to control the pace but avillanoza is squirming around nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ricardo has control of avillanoza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and avillanoza regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ricardo wants to control the pace but avillanoza is squirming around nicely.
The referee warns avillanoza that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
avillanoza drops his hands momentarily and Ricardo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ricardo thuds a left hand into avillanoza's body.

and Ricardo counters with a thumping low kick.
avillanoza shoots in looking for a takedown. Ricardo tries to sprawl out of it but avillanoza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ricardo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
avillanoza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ricardo shoots in but avillanoza avoids the takedown attempt easily.
avillanoza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

avillanoza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ricardo dives on top into guard.
Hugo Ricardo has got the better of the ground game so far.

avillanoza wants to stand and escape but Ricardo is having none of it.
avillanoza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ricardo stands and steps away. avillanoza gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

avillanoza closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that jj avillanoza will probably get the nod.

avillanoza creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ricardo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

avillanoza is looking to work some ground and pound but Ricardo has wrist control.

avillanoza wants to get up but he can't break Ricardo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ricardo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. avillanoza doesn't defend quickly enough and Ricardo has managed to lock this one up! Can avillanoza escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ricardo on a fantastic submission victory.
