Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Dickinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royler Burns!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dickinson throws a head kick that misses
and Dickinson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Paul Dickinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burns has managed to clinch.
Dickinson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Burns gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Burns holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Burns continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Burns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dickinson misses with a head kick.
Dickinson misses with a takedown

and Burns counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Burns lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dickinson or not.
Dickinson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Burns just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Dickinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The referee calls for Burns to work.

Burns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dickinson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Burns.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dickinson fails with the takedown

and Burns counters with a takedown into side control.
Burns controlling from side mount.
Dickinson tries to improve position but can't.

Burns stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Dickinson looks to clinch

and Burns moves into the clinch.
Burns lands a shot to the body.

Burns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Burns rushes Dickinson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Burns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns swings for the body but Dickinson moves out of range.
Dickinson darts in trying to clinch

and Burns counters by clinching up.

Burns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dickinson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burns.
Dickinson tries for a takedown but Burns circles away easily

and Burns counters with a single leg into guard. Dickinson didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dickinson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Burns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dickinson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dickinson is breathing heavily.
Burns slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dickinson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Burns sitting in guard here, content to control.
Dickinson keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Royler Burns has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Burns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dickinson was well out of range. Poor timing from Burns.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Burns closes the distance and clinches.
Dickinson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Burns prevents it.

Burns breaks the clinch.

Burns closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dickinson did well to prevent Burns getting side control.
Burns seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dickinson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Burns stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royler Burns dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dickinson fails to land with a series of punches.
Dickinson misses with a takedown

and Burns counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dickinson won't be happy with that.

Burns tries for a kimura but Dickinson is defending well.
Dickinson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burns off and has taken his back!
Burns can't escape the position.
Burns is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Will Dickinson go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Burns wants to escape the position.

Burns is looking to escape here. Oh dear - Dickinson has locked on a rear naked choke here! Burns is tapping out! The fight is over!
