John throws a poor cross that misses
and Pierce counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps John thinking.
John misses with a left hand
and Pierce counters with a lovely straight right hand!
John takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A swing and a miss from Pierce.
John misses with an uppercut
and Pierce counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
John throws a poor cross that misses
and Pierce cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
John throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pierce counters with a nice uppercut.

Pierce swings for the body but John moves out of range.
Pierce ducks down and throws a hook to the body but John moves away.
Pope John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
John throws a lazy uppercut
and John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pierce connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between John's hands.
John misses with an uppercut
and Pierce counters with a left and a right that stings John.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
John takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pierce jabs John to the body, keeping him at a distance.
John moves away from the strike by Pierce.

John misses with a right hand
and Pierce counters with a straight right hand.
John is rocked!
John leaves his chin hanging out and Pierce seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! John crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
