Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Bernie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Price!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernie throws a head kick that misses
and Price counters with a nice uppercut.
Price tries to clinch but Bernie moves away
and Bernie makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Price tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Bernie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Price's guard now.
Price is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Price is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bernie forces his way into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Price wants to improve his position but Bernie is controlling well.

Price looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Price is trying to control but can't.

Bernie is looking for a kimura but Price is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bernie to get the leverage.

Bernie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Price pushes Bernie off looking to stand but Bernie dives back in and keeps control.
Price trying to control from the bottom.
Bernie trying to mount his opponent but Price defends it.

Bernie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Price defends it well.

Bernie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Price doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bernie.

Bernie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Price trying to control but Bernie postures up.
Price avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bernie.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Price wants to improve his position but Bernie is controlling well.

Price pushes Bernie off and gets back to his feet.
Price misses with a takedown attempt

and Bernie counters with a single leg into guard. Price didn't expect that.
Bernie wants to pass the guard but Price is keeping the position.
Bernie passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Price tries to improve position but can't.
Bernie cracks Price with a big right hand but Price just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Price is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bernie tries to advance to mount but Price denies him.
Bernie cracks Price with a big elbow.

Bernie working the ground and pound from side control.
Price regains half guard.
Price is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bernie tries to pass to full mount but Price defends it.
Bernie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Price gets back to full guard.
Bernie advances to half guard.
Bernie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bernie passes to full mount!
Price is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Price keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Price looks gassed!
Price is squirming around, avoiding Bernie's attempts to control the action.
Bernie scoring with strikes but Price is staying in there.

Bernie working for a submission but Price is keeping him at bay.
Bernie is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Price can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bernie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Price is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Price flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Bernie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Price and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Bernie slips an arm under Price chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Bernie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Bernie is squeezing on Price like an anaconda would it's prey. Price fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bryan Bernie!
