Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pueblo Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and snoork bananasplits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). snoork bananasplits struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Pueblo Cortez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez shoots in looking for a takedown. bananasplits tries to sprawl out of it but Cortez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. bananasplits manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cortez tries to clinch up but bananasplits circles away and keeps his distance.
Cortez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cortez shoots for a double leg takedown but bananasplits sprawls well. He's pushed Cortez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

bananasplits had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cortez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. bananasplits Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cortez's back instead.

Cortez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if bananasplits gets his way!
