Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hulohot Yokohama! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Yokohama or perhaps it was just good defense by Kazama which made him look bad. Yokohama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kazama manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kazama is defending against the submission attempts here by Yokohama.
Kazama wants to sweep but Yokohama has passed to side control! Yokohama tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Yokohama tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kazama is looking to regain half guard here but Yokohama keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yokohama working away. Kazama is looking for a sweep.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yokohama throws out a loose jab but Kazama uses good head movement to avoid it. Yokohama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kazama closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kazama lands in his opponent's guard. Kazama drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yokohama looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yokohama looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yokohama!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yokohama working away. Kazama is trying to get back to half guard. Kazama gets back to half guard. Yokohama performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kazama looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kazama is breathing heavily. Yokohama is trying to control the action in half guard but Kazama is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kazama is trying to control but can't.
Yokohama performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kazama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yokohama is working away from the top position though. Kazama is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yokohama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yokohama wants to take a breather but Kazama is having none of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kazama looking for submissions off his back. Yokohama is controlling the pace.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hulohot Yokohama just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yokohama misses with a takedown and Kazama counters with a shoot takedown. Yokohama fights it but they end up in guard. Yokohama seems keen to control Kazama's posture. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kazama stopping the sweep attempt from Yokohama. Yokohama looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kazama drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yokohama manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kazama has Yokohama in his guard. Yokohama wants to pass the guard but Kazama is keeping the position.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Yokohama controlling from the top position. Yokohama wants to control from the top but Kazama keeps moving. Yokohama pushing down on Kazama's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Yokohama is working for an americana but Kazama has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Yokohama was thinking about the submission. Yokohama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yokohama tries to free his leg and advance position but Kazama is retaining full guard.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Yokohama wants to control from the top but Kazama keeps moving. Kazama wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Yokohama is now in half guard. Yokohama is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kazama actively working from the bottom here. Kazama is looking to improve his position.
Yokohama is looking for a kimura but Kazama is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yokohama to get the leverage. Kazama trying to control here.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kazama. Kazama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kazama goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Yokohama rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kazama's guard! Nice work there by Yokohama! Kazama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yokohama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kazama is trying to control the position but Yokohama postures up.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Yokohama sitting in guard, not really doing much. Yokohama won't allow Kazama to sweep him here. Yokohama has gone for a leg lock! Kazama slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yokohama's guard. Kazama sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yokohama's guard. Kazama is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Yokohama is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
