Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Boban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ridge Back (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boban comes to the cage accompanied by Mie en luovu Ievasta saatana!. Back has chosen Animal I have Become as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boban connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Back momentarily.

and Boban makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Back really felt that one!

and Boban counters with a leg kick.

Boban has his foot on Back's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Back works his way back into a safe position though.

Boban is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Back wants to stand but Boban has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Boban has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Back is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boban.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boban is trying to control Back's posture but Back avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boban cracks a nice hook into Back's ribs.
Back closes the distance but Boban moves to the side

Ridge Back is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Back tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Boban counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Boban counters with a nice low kick that buckles Back's knee momentarily.
Boban lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Back throws a combination that misses
enabling Boban to counter with a crisp jab.
Boban lands a jab to Back's midsection.
Back tries to clinch up
and Boban counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Back takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Back is breathing heavily.
Boban fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boban lands with a hook. Back tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Boban gets the takedown into side control.
Boban wants to control but Back is keeping him busy.
Back is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Back can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boban cracks Back with a big elbow.
Boban moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Back really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boban. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boban tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Boban is trying to get an arm triangle but Back is defending well.

Boban is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Back knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Boban wants to lay and pray for a moment but Back keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Boban moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Back is trying to buck Boban off.

Boban takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Back is trying to stand up.

Boban is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Back is forced to tap! Great finish!
