Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kingston James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Partlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James's entrance music is Big Mouth Strikes Again. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Kingston James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Chris Partlow!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a left hand
and Partlow counters with a nice uppercut.
James with a lazy takedown attempt
and Partlow connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
James throws a right hand that misses
and Partlow counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd cheers as James lands an impressive looking overhand right. Partlow doesn't seem phased though.
James misses with a double jab
and Partlow counters with a stiff right hand.
James lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Partlow at a distance.
Partlow takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses.
Partlow tests James's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Partlow drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
James is trying to hold Partlow in close to prevent damage but Partlow has managed to pass into half guard.
Partlow lands strikes from half guard.

Partlow is trying to work for a kimura but James is defending well.

Partlow is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so James is just riding it out for now. Partlow eventually gives up the hold.
James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Partlow is just content to waste time from the top position. James takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Partlow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
James looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Partlow puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Partlow moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from James.
James can't do much from the bottom here.
Partlow lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear James down.
You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Partlow has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Partlow scores with a takedown into James's guard.

James tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Partlow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Partlow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

James has his hands on Partlow's head, controlling the position.
Partlow looking to sit in guard and control but James gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

James postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Partlow is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of James, into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Partlow lands a couple of elbows.
Partlow won't allow James to sweep him here.

Partlow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Partlow throws a big right hand that misses.
Partlow preventing the sweep.
Partlow wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.

James looking for a guillotine here but Partlow defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


James swings for the body but Partlow moves out of range.

Partlow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.

Partlow thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Partlow trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Partlow trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Partlow defends it easily.

Partlow tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.

James has his foot on Partlow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Partlow works his way back into a safe position though.

Partlow drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Partlow off! Partlow jumps back into James's guard.
James wants to sweep but no luck.

James is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Partlow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Partlow drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Partlow off! Partlow jumps back into James's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
James is trying to keep Partlow in close.
Partlow trying to control but James is working from the bottom.

Partlow gets to his feet. James looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Partlow shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches James napping and manages to drive through into side control!
James is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Partlow off and has taken his back!
Will James go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

James tries to get the hooks in deep but Partlow pushed the leg off.
Partlow looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Partlow manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Partlow.
James controls from within his opponent's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
James throws a strike but Partlow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Partlow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Partlow defends well.

Partlow stands and throws James's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Partlow landing a few strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Partlow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Partlow moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

James rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Partlow to counter with a crisp jab.
James fails to land with a series of punches.
Partlow plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

and Partlow counters with an outside leg kick.
James swings away with a body shot that misses
and Partlow counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kingston James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

James throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Partlow counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A cross from James lands.
Partlow throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
James misses with a hook to the body
and Partlow counters with a stiff right hand.
Partlow uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from James.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Partlow was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
James is looking to wear down Partlow with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Partlow looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Partlow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.

James misses with a series of wild punches.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Partlow throws out the jab.
No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Partlow.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Partlow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Partlow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
