Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ted Chips! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shawn Dyer! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chips misses with a hook to the body
enabling Dyer to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Ted Chips has been cut. Ted Chips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dyer throws a right and a left that both miss. Dyer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Chips misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Dyer to counter with a crisp jab. Chips drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dyer tries to escape but Chips is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chips lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Dyer is being controlled here. Chips postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Dyer regains half guard. Dyer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Chips throwing shots but Dyer is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dyer is trying to maintain the position but Chips is very close to passing his half guard. Dyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dyer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dyer is trying to control but can't.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dyer pushes Chips off and gets back to his feet. Dyer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chips moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Chips fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dyer sprawls well initially but Chips persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chips trying to control the pace. Chips throwing shots but Dyer is blocking nicely. Chips throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Chips with the ground and pound but Dyer uses the opportunity to regain guard. Chips cracks Dyer with a solid left hand. Chips with a flurry of punches that miss. Chips slips nicely into half guard. Chips looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chips sitting and controlling from the half guard. Dyer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chips. Dyer wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chips is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Dyer still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Dyer has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Chips misses with a strike from the bottom. Chips tries to improve position but can't. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dyer tries to advance to mount but can't. Dyer avoids the strikes from the bottom by Chips. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shawn Dyer will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ted Chips's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Chips slips a jab and a cross from Dyer.
Dyer wants to land a leg kick but Chips is out of range. Chips misses the body punch and Dyer counters with a nice leg kick. Chips throws a predictable looking body shot
and Dyer counters with a lovely shot to the body. No joy there for Dyer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chips throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dyer's waist but Dyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chips off to one side. Dyer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chips. That did some damage! Chips shoots in looking for a takedown. Dyer tries to sprawl out of it but Chips keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dyer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Chips blocks a head kick by Dyer.
Chips misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Chips. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chips avoids the head kick by Dyer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Chips looks to score with a jab to the body but Dyer is just out of range. Chips is looking to wear down Dyer with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Dyer connects with a right hand. Chips shakes it off. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dyer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chips. Chips looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Dyer! Dyer wants to control but Chips is having none of it.

Ooooh, that looks tight… Dyer is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dyer and Chips has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ted Chips dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ted Chips's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Dyer takes a swing at Chips's ribcage but misses. Chips ducks under a wild hook from Dyer. Dyer tries a head kick but it misses.
Chips closes the distance and clinches up with Dyer, looking for a takedown. Chips pushes Dyer against the cage but Dyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A looping hook to the body misses from Chips. Dyer does a little dance to reset his feet. Dyer lands a slapping body shot.
Dyer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. A jab from Dyer does it's job there. No joy there for Dyer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chips with a poor takedown and Dyer counters with a lovely shot to the body. Chips shoots in for a takedown but Dyer shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Chips. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dyer throws a nice looking combination but Chips bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice shot by Dyer. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dyer throws a good cross that connects.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chips. Dyer does a little dance to reset his feet. Chips shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dyer but Dyer pushes him off and we're back to square one. Chips fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chips takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A solid body kick from Dyer. Dyer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dyer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chips tries for a takedown but Dyer circles away easily and Dyer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. A slapping leg kick lands for Dyer.
Dyer moves into the clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Dyer.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dyer obliges. Dyer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Chips.
Dyer connects with a nasty looking knee right to Chips's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dyer lands a nice knee to the body. Dyer trying to land knees to the body.
Chips fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dyer has Chips pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dyer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chips tumbling to the mat - Dyer dives into Chips's guard. Ted Chips overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dyer is looking to stand up but Chips won't let him. Chips looking for subs off his back but Dyer has passed one foot through into half guard.

Dyer content to control rather than advance. Chips wants to get back to full guard but Dyer has mounted him! Chips tries to hold on but Dyer postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dyer tries to control but Chips wriggling away. Chips is looking to get to half guard. Dyer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chips is looking to escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dyer controlling from the full mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Shawn Dyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dyer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
