Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Pardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xander Boudewijn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boudewijn has chosen The Streets - Blinded by the Lights as his entrance music. Xander Boudewijn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Pardo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Xander Boudewijn!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boudewijn takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Boudewijn wants to clinch.
Pardo throws a body kick the misses
and Boudewijn counters with a thumping low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Pardo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pardo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boudewijn circles away quickly and effectively.

Pardo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Boudewijn takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Pardo has hold of Boudewijn's hands but Boudewijn slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Boudewijn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pardo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boudewijn wants to control from the top but Pardo keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pardo is trying to control the position but Boudewijn postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Pardo counters with a good low kick that Boudewijn was not able to check.
Boudewijn lands a leg kick that knocks Pardo off balance momentarily.
Paul Pardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pardo. Boudewijn does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pardo thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Boudewijn if he has to take too many more of those.

Boudewijn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pardo as he avoids it easily.

Boudewijn tries to move into range but Pardo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Pardo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Boudewijn shoots in looking for a takedown but Pardo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boudewijn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pardo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Boudewijn's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pardo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boudewijn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Boudewijn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Pardo lunges at Boudewijn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Boudewijn's hand.
